Results of the XIХ Gomel Economic Forum

On September 18–19, 2025, the XIХ Gomel Economic Forum was held in the city of Gomel. The format of the forum included a plenary session, the work of four strategic sections (“Industry and innovation”, “Tourism”, “Financial and other instruments for business development”, “Localization of the sustainable development goals in Gomel region”), and the exhibition “Industry. Science. Technologies”.

More than 500 people took part in the forum, including representatives of business circles, official delegations, enterprises, and organizations from 10 foreign countries: Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Serbia, Slovakia, the UAE, Mongolia, Zimbabwe, Qatar, and Palestine.

At the plenary session, the investment potential of Gomel region, the city of Gomel, and the Free Economic Zone “Gomel-Raton” was presented. Joint projects of regions and countries, the development of cooperative and friendly ties, as well as the existing preferential business regimes were discussed.

A number of cooperation documents were signed: 3 interregional agreements on cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and tourism spheres; 2 memorandums of intent to implement investment projects in Gomel region; a cooperation agreement with OJSC “Sber Bank” in the field of digital development; a cooperation protocol between Gomel City Executive Committee and the People’s Government of Changchun (Jilin Province, China); a business partnership agreement between the Administration of the Free Economic Zone “Gomel-Raton” and the Chinese company Guangzhou Yunbaoda Trading Co., LTD. The total volume of investments planned to be attracted within the framework of the signed documents is 100 million US dollars.

Within the framework of the strategic sessions, participants discussed issues of industrial development, digitalization, tourism, financial instruments for business, and development directions for Gomel region, as provided for in the developed Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the region until 2040.

The regional industrial exhibition “Industry. Science. Technologies” was organized for forum participants, guests, and residents of Gomel. It featured 63 organizations producing a wide range of goods across various sectors of the economy. The exhibition was also attended by students from secondary and specialized educational institutions.

As part of the forum’s events, bilateral B2B meetings were held. Delegations and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Belarus visited several facilities and enterprises in Gomel region, where they were introduced to the organization of production activities.
